ReferenceThe 22 checks

Load

Health checkload

What it reads

The 15-minute load average in /proc/loadavg and the number of CPU cores in /proc/cpuinfo.

Does it need root?

It reads everything it needs as a normal user.

When it passes

The report lists it as passed, in these words:

  • 15-minute load is load per CPU core

What it can find

Warning

The 15-minute load is load per CPU core, above limit

A load this high for this long usually means the server is too small for its work, or one process is stuck. Load is a stand-in for CPU use until this server is connected and Kiyesi can watch CPU every minute.

Fix
ps -eo pid,comm,%cpu --sort=-%cpu | head -n 6
